***PHO YOU TO THE MOON*** For a very long time I have heard about "Pig and the Lady" the remarkable food, the theme bathroom straight out of "Big Trouble in Little China." The reservations were made, the clothes were pressed and we were off. From the moment we were seated on the high top we were able to bask in awe at the beautiful of appetizers and desserts; and converse with the staff and ask what their FAV DISHES. The whole evening was mesmerizing...the setting, the drinks, the apps to our final course. We saved the best entree for last. The BEEF PHO was spectacular, the seasoning, the broth, the fall off the bone beef we couldn't get enough - AMAZING!!! The next time your in the mood for Outstanding food and atmosphere, be sure to check out "Pig & the Lady."

I haven't been to Pig and the Lady in a while since parking in Chinatown is difficult. I used to dine at Piggy Smalls until they closed down. My family wanted to buy groceries in Chinatown so I was able to reserve counter seats at the last minute for lunch. Le fried chicken wings: One of our favorites. The chicken wings were big. They were crispy and juicy even when it was covered in their sauce. Their sauce was delicious. Tangy, sweet, and sour taste. It also goes great with the shredded cabbages and peanuts on the bottom. Pho French dip: Sometimes their French dip is a hit and a miss. Lately, it's been a hit. The beef brisket was so tender with a nice pink center. It was also sliced thickly with the right of fat. The bread was softer than before which I preferred. The bread was easier to bite into. The chimichurri sauce was very good on this sandwich. The broth for dipping was excellent, however sometimes it can be pretty salty. Warm corn bread pudding: I'm not a bread pudding fan but I do love corn bread. The corn bread pudding came out warm. It was pretty good but very salty. The furikake ice cream helps with the saltiness and cools the corn bread. I love the ice cream but it was such a small scoop that it wasn't enough to balance the rest of the corn bread saltiness. Overall, the foods were pretty good. The service was quick. The restaurant was packed especially on Saturday during lunch rush hour. It was nice seeing this place still going strong after all these years.

Didn't make resy and just sniped the place at 11:30am on tues. Good food selections they had. Literally got the wings just because people recc it. playing all good songs. Super shy, magnetic, perfect night, etc. singular unisex restroom is the most interesting part of the experience. Pretty much like a shrine with its essential oil diffuser, plushies, posters, peppermint candy jar, everything. The main ambiance of the restaurant is like any new American, Asian fusion, SF-like restaurant with its music, painting, lighting, and other interior design.

Had an awesome experience at The Pig and The Lady - if you are up for a yummy Vietnamese Fusion experience this is a great spot, just make sure you have reservations! The service here was fast and friendly and the ambiance was very nice. Definitely a great spot to come here when on vacation! For food we ordered: * Chicken Wings - these were delicious, crispy and coated in a yummy sauce with lots of pickled veggies that went well with it! * Pho French Dip - this was really yummy the brisket in the sandwich was melt in your mouth and went super well with the Pho broth. This was A really yummy combination *Cornbread with furikake ice cream - this was delicious in a unique way. The flavors are definitely different than what you expect but it was nice. The cornbread is savory and warm, crispy on the outside and soft in the middle. This came with yummy furikake ice cream small teeny pieces of popcorn and this crispy mochi pieces which are crunchy. This was topped off with a caramel fish sauce drizzle. We really enjoyed this as an experience. Overall, great experience coming here for lunch and would recommend one to check out!

Love the creativity but def some misses in execution. They def have some pretty interesting Viet fusion dishes but some dishes fall flat. Also, while the cocktails look and sound good, taste was just ok so they need a bit more tweaking as well. Food: Pho 75- good broth good flavor good noodles. No complaints Whipped laughing cow toast- was interesting but didn't really get the concept. Maybe it's the name but thought there would be beef. Marinated big eye ahi toast- this was good. Would recommend Chicken wings- fried chicken wings. Good Viet flavors. However, the double fry makes the chicken a lil drier. The chicken could definitely be more juicy. Maybe should use drums and thighs. BLT banh xeo- I personally loved this dish. The bank xeo was made perfectly and really tasted like a BLT sandwich. I noticed after looking at past menus the fillings may change. It's a good idea. Venison tartare- I also enjoyed this dish. The tartare goes really well with the grilled toast. I believe the toast was also like a grilled cheese. Pork chop- The pork chop flavors were pretty solid. But it was cooked a bit rare. While I understand not wanting to overcook, i think most older folk wouldn't prefer it as it may or may not be safe. It's also a bit pricy at $47. Bo kho papardelle- liked this dish as well. The Bo kho is like a beef ragu but different. The flavors were def reminiscent of Bo kho though. The papardelle itself was also good. Bun rieu linguine- the linguine itself was solid and the dish itself was like solid. My only gripe with it is it doesn't taste like bun rieu at all unfortunately. There are def very Viet flavors but it's just not bun rieu at all. The desserts were bomb def try the p&L soft serve. Overall, def some cool concepts. While it sometimes may lead to not as great results, I appreciate them always tweaking and trying new dishes. Would def recommend if you like fusion but def leave your Viet food traditionalist friends at home.

This is my third time here, and it never disappoints. The only sucky part is parking, but it's worth the parking hassle! Try to make reservations, but we didn't. We came 10 min before they opened on a Saturday, and we were sat immediately. Here's what the 3 of us shared: Burmese Tea Salad - I know, it's a Vietnamese restaurant, but they did this right, and we devoured this. Le Fried Chicken Wing - delicious and giant chicken wings (5 pieces) - honestly one per person is plenty. Fried to perfection and the sauce is great, it's not drenched in it, and you can dip your chicken in the bottom of the plate if you want more sauce. BÒ LÚC LAC "Shaking Beef" - the rice was really good, and I know it's not the highlight of the dish, but it was yummy and the steak pieces go well with it - I'd get this again. Pho French Dip - we got the $7 mini pho addition, and to be honest, I don't think the mini pho was worth it - it was a very small portion of noodles, but that's why they call it mini, right? My party enjoyed this a lot since they are French Dip sandwich lovers. Warm Corn Bread Pudding - it was someone's birthday, so we had to try a dessert, and went with this one per the server's request. It was BANGIN! Omg, they bake the corn bread pudding right when you order, and then topped with furikake infused ice cream, miniature popcorn, and drizzled caramel. It's pretty sweet, but it was so friggin yum, and I would def order this again. The 3 of us were stuffed, and very satisfied with this meal. Ambiance was great, not super loud or quiet, so it was pleasant and fun. Service was amazing - our server and other servers checked on us constantly, making our lunch experience really amazing.

Came here for a friend's birthday lunch and had an INCREDIBLE time! While they welcome walk-ins, it's highly recommended you make a reservation, which you can do online via their website. We got lucky and booked our reservation the morning of for a 1:00 PM seating. For drinks, we ordered a Highball and Old Fashioned. The Highball's flavor was more subtle and the candied ginger garnish was yummy, and the Old Fashioned had a very strong flavor that we enjoyed. As for food, we ordered the Pho French Dip and the Viet Lobster Roll. The Pho French Dip was Pho-nomenal and I would definitely come back again for it!! As for the Lobster Roll, you can order it with either three ounces or six ounces of lobster meat and it comes with shrimp chips on the side. I've heard so many good things about the soft serve and the rotating flavors that we ended up ordering the soft serve swirl for dessert. The current flavors are a Salted Cherry Blossom custard and a Cherry Sorbet; the dark chocolate crack on top of the swirl was a perfect pairing and we devoured it completely! The service was what really made this place shine for me. The servers were very attentive and frequently came by to check on us and refill our waters. Also, when we first got seated, the server had asked if it was my friend's birthday since he was wearing a lei. After confirming we were celebrating his birthday, the server had returned after taking our food orders and brought by a few glasses of Prosecco so we could have a celebratory toast, which was such a nice touch. As a heads up about parking, it's Chinatown so it really depends on what day and time you end up there. In the case you can't find street parking, I'd recommend the Chinatown municipal parking garage on Maunakea; it's also near all the lei shops so you can pick up a lei on the way if you're celebrating something!

I've heard about The Pig & The Lady for a long time, and I wasn't sure what to expect from a "fancy" Vietnamese place as a Vietnamese person, but I'm so glad I went. This was our first dinner on our trip and it was so satisfying. We made a reservation for two at the bar. We arrived on time but were seated 15 minutes after our reservation time. I liked that there is enough space between seats for people to feel comfortable. We were seated by the food prep side, not the bar side, so it was cool watching the chefs assemble the dishes. Toast: I think it was strange that it's a minimum of three per order. We mixed and matched two chicken pate (pickled jalapeno, maggi caramelized onion, cilantro) and shared one whipped Laughing Cow cheese toast (black garlic, pink pepper, lemon). It's flavor overload; there needed to be more carb or less topping to even the flavors out. It was nice to try once but I wouldn't get it again. The cheese toast was a nice palate cleanser after the salty pate one. Chicken wings (makrut leaves, pickled red onion, peanut, money sauce): These are big, whole wings. The sauce was too thin for the meat to pick up on, so I kept having to dip the meat back on the plate. However the dish itself was crispy and the flavors were fresh. Octopus & bone marrow busiate (red wine, gochujang, roasted bone marrow, sesame breadcrumbs, mint & shiso): This was rich and tasty. It came out last (long after our other foods were done), around 45 min after ordering. I don't know if I'd say it was worth the wait, but it was nice to finish this off and share it between two people. I don't recall the names of our drinks but I think it was a whiskey-heavy menu. I got the one gin-based drink and my friend got a daiquiri as well as a funky-tasting one which he liked. The server took away my drink when I wasn't done yet and he happily ordered another one for me, a free replacement which I was happy with. It was my bad I didn't notice he was cleaning up behind me. I loved the interesting decor in the bathroom and the picture of the staff with Kurt Russell. Overall, I enjoyed the unique take on Asian food at this restaurant, and it has a lot of charm. It'd be great for date nights, girls' night out, and more. I'd recommend it.
